    Hi,

we have a very old site with a stable position in Top5 with the needed key and continously SEM, linkbuilding etc.
Everything worked fine during the last few years besides small changes and the Google Updates.

Unfortunately we have other domains on the same webpack registred and didn't change the path, so there are about 40 domains pointing to the main domain (dublicate content). Not too bad so far, since only one domain is used for content and marketing.
Now we moved one unimportant domain to another hoster.
    The result is:

    - This unimportant domain is now in Top 20 with the cache from the important website
    - The important domain droped to position 119
    - The unimportant domain is now at the new hoster and I uploaded a 301 PHP to the important domain.

    Now my questions:
    - Did the important domain drop because of the Update?
I can see the dance is over, according to this tool:
    http://www.web4site.de/webmastertools/dance.php
But the important domain has dropped this morning or night (max. 12 hours ago) and is still at a bad position.

    - Why is the unimportant domain (of course without any backlinks, marketing etc.) now in Top20?

    - Can I do something else, or do I just have to sit and wait?

    Thank you in advance.
    Bye, Chris

    Hi Chris,

First of all, if you have already in good spot in search engine, it is a bad idea to mess with the domain. Now, you have done it, obviously your unimportant domain gets good backlink from your important domain. But, your important domain might leak some juice there linking to unimportant sites.

Or, it might be that google find out it is a duplicate content. Duplicate content is bad for business.

Give the URLs on the "important" domain and "unimportant" domain... as well as the keyword phrase you are talking about.

What I suggest you is wait a little bit and check the result.
