Hi Guys, Wondered if anyone could help me. In the last few months I have been working round the clock - 16 hour days - and have managed to double my impressions from 5,000 per day to around 10,000. However the amount I make per click has gone down considerably... meaning I am not making much more than I was previously despite all the work. Can anyone suggest how to get the eCPM up again? Do you think this is simply a change that has been reflected worldwide - possibly since the credit crunch or Google acquisition of Doubleclick? I have heard that if say you control two accounts - one for business - one personal (and both have separate payment details etc - therefore not against terms and conditions) - and you put your weaker/lower eCPM channels in one account, and higher in the other - this can be effective... Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks!
The new traffic you are getting to your site isnt good traffic. Are you buying traffic? A lot of bought traffic does not convert well at all...
Thanks for your reply Marc. Its all organic / SEO traffic... though I guess the newer niches I have picked may be ones where there is a lower conversion - that is definitely possible... The only thing is that my older websites which have traditionally performed well, and that I have made no changes to - have had their eCPM drop too. So I guess I was wondered if the newer sites may be dragging down the others... Thanks
You have increased page impressions, not unique visitors. Try to increase visitors to get more revenue.
Hi, I have increased unique visitors by approx 80% over the last month - spread over 3 - 4 new websites, and one more mature website. Averaging about 180,000 uniques per month accross the network, compared to approx 100,000 in July. Anyone have any thoughts about splitting up accounts with lower and higher performers? Thanks guys - really appreciate your thoughts.
It is either the PPC or the CTR. If it is the PPC, then try to modify your content a bit by adding more relevant keywords to the content. If it is the CTR, then it is time to try new placement colors, sizes and types. Good luck
