Hi there, I recently posted a new topic - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1695553 that I needed to post a picture, now after I had posted it I noticed the image was to big, thus stretching the skin past the border to keep up with the size of the image which really makes the topic messy. Here's a screenshot and an example of it - As you can see in the screenshot it does it to that topic, it also does it to this topic so there's a prime example. It's not a big issue but it does make our threads and DP look messy and im sure it won't be too hard to fix. Cheers.
You can use an Image Hosting site for this. Just select a smaller size at RESIZE option before you start uploading and it'll automatically make it smaller. For example tinypic has an option called "Message Board (640x480)" which makes it like this; Or 800x600 would do the trick too; (This will be a problem at displays with 800x600 resolution (if anyone left on earth using it )) Hope it helps.
While I already knew that, thanks for taking your time to write it. However instead of just saying to use something else to make this issue go away without it actually getting fixed, I think it'd be a lot easier just to fix it.
I wouldn't recommend skin setting too set max. width for images, some images are good as big and some are as small,
its simple mate, when you set a max. dimension size, it would apply the same globally, certain images such as wallpapers look good only when they are in their original dimensions, cropping them only makes it look non-impressive if a user wants a fit image, he could very well use image resize option available with major imagehosts such as imageshack, tinypic, etc..
That's why maybe Shawn can put an image re-sizer, so it crops the image in post view but when click able it shows the image in it's full size, just like the attachments feature
