After the big December rush, my AdSense CPC dropped down to a more typical (for me) rate of around $0.20-$0.30 per click, but on March 8th it took a sudden drop to just $0.06 to $0.12 per click. There haven't been any major changes to the site, so at first I thought it was just an anomaly, but it's continued this way for almost 2 weeks, and I'm getting worried it isn't going to bounce back. Page-views have remained fairly consistent at around 7,000-9,000 per day, and CTR hasn't been affected (around 2 - 2.5%). It seems unlikely that all my high-paying advertisers have abandoned me simultaneously, which can only make me think that something has changed in the way Google allocates the ads. Has anyone else exprerienced this recently? Or do you have some idea of what might have changed with Google that could have caused this? Thanks!
There was a major update after the first week of March. Adsense forum was full of topics with people complaining about earning drops. CPC decreased for a week dramatically and then it got slightly better. It's catching up now last few days. They changed something in their algorithm. I believe they smart priced lots of people since its unlikely that all the advertisers decreased CPC. Ad relevance was also screwed up for 10 days. This was also a big problem. It's getting better now and hopefully will go back to normal in April.
I find this thread quite surprising since my adsense earnings have actually gone up by over 40 percent over the last 4 weeks. Also, the adsense forums are always full of people complaining about low adsense revenues so unless you have definite proof of a drop in earnings as reported by a more reliable source then this makes sense Else this thread should probably be taken with a pinch of salt.
I am surprised to see to see this thread, as I am getting good CPC this month as compared to the previous month,
