Big drop down with adsense

    Hello,

i have some good web page related to software. Last month i earned more than 1000$. That was my records. But last 10 days my AdSense has some very poor rates.

This are statistics for last month:
    432000 7672 1.78% $2.46 $1,069

    This are for this month:
    419000 6430 1.54% $1.57 $650

    This are for this month:
    106000 1229 1.16% $0.79 $84

    This are for yesterday:
    15000 114 0.76% $0.37 $5

And it is getting worse. I'm long time in adsense and had good and bad months, but never this bad. I thought it is because targeted adverting so i disabled this function yesterday.

One thing more. Recently I started to advertise my site throught adbrite. Can that be the reason?

What I can do? Should i change meta tags or something similar?

have you been putting mfa ads in the filter?

you could also be getting overrun by an advertiser or two that is using image ads in all the available sizes... google will put that crap up on every ad block on the same page, so your ctr takes a big drop when there aren't any choices between advertisers... complaining to adsense support about it is a waste of time.

the only cure is disable image ads in every ad block.

look like your control rate is still same month over month but your ecpm rate is going down hill..

have your noticed your ads are slightly changing? ads showing up that are not relevant to your site??

you are definitely getting impression but i would check carefully what type of ads are showing up and filter them out..

    good luck

if i am doing the math right, your epc is going up, while the ctr is going down? that is a very strange pattern.

if site-targeted ads were the problem, your epc would be down, not up.

Well, ads are showing on few languages but it was allways like that. I even filtered add wich are on croatian and where low paying.

So i think about changing keywords and meta tags to target some other ads. what about that? will this hellp?

if i am reading your epc right, and it is indeed higher, you need to be very careful about messing around with advertisers and keywords... high epc is holy grail.

i'd be looking at ctr issues... did you recently do a site redesign?

well my eCPM is going down. Last month was $2.46 and now is $0.37

i turned off yesterday onSite advertisting. If someone has camping will it be canceled now or after it ends?

My CTR is the same. i removed few low paying blocks and today is little lower but problem is in ecpm not in ctr

ecpm is worthless for troubleshooting cpc advertising issues... forget about it.

please re-calculate your ctr trends, the numbers that you posted show declining ctr:
    1.78
    1.54
    1.16
    0.76

yes. but i have that after cost per click has started to drop. few block where terrible.. .1 cent per click...

Yesterday i got average 4 cents per click on whole site. Last month it was about 13-15 average

    Should i rise CTR?

so we agree that ctr is down... and you are right, the epc(earnings per click) is down also, which makes more sense.

    1) did you recently re-design the site? maybe add more ad blocks to each page? we have to figure out why the ctr is down so much.
    2) your filter should probably be full... use the labnol site to find other bad advertisers... it can take 48 hours for the filter to take affect.
    3) you should use at least a weeks worth of data to determine if the changes you made are taking affect... do not rely on data from just one day.

I'll provide some feedback if you pm me your url. I still have one of my site fluctuates in earnings and I hate it.. what I do is filter out unrelevant ads..

But there are cases you could make more money from unrelevant ads than relevant ones.. thats why people sort of do ppc arbitrage.. :p

Anyways, I hope you get this fixed.

    Man2,

Thanks for sending me the URL. I think your site is a gem, very nicely done.

    1. you have a typo in the the title..

    2. your eCPM is down so is the CTR..

I don't know what else to say on here, maybe change the colors on your adsense ads to get higher CTR?

Right now your ads blend well with the background (blue).. maybe change

    Ad title to: orange
    Text: Black
    URL: Black

orange goes well with blue ..

    3. i saw that "Download Google Pack" pack.google.com ads showing up multiple times. I even saw this same ad twice on one page.

I hope I don't get banned from google for saying this but.. do you think google itself will charge $ for their own advertising through adwords? maybe they push ads for free or cheap like $0.05/click on their own ads??? lol

maybe filtering their ads will get your earnings up at least..?? what ya think?

    4. i pulled down your source page to see if your google ads had channels on them and you DO! Can't you break down your earning history and see which channel peforms well?

anyways.. best luck to you! very nice site! :D
