No, I'm pretty sure it was Article I. In fact, FDR wrote it while on TV at the beginning of the great depression.

homebizseo, I want you to look deep inside yourself and try to find the courage to answer this question honestly.

Do you think Sarah Palin knows even 1 half of what Senator Biden knows about the VP's role in presiding over the Senate?

I personally wonder if while Biden was making that point Palin even knew WTF he was talking about :D. It obviously wasn't in her notes for her because she didn't respond. Wonder why that is....

Of course she does. Why do you think she can't name a newspaper she reads? Because she's too busy reading the constitution!

LOL - Biz tried this in another thread, and I guess when it proved too difficult to read:

    And compare this to:

Hell with it - just create another thread. Maybe the more times you avoid the obvious, the more the chance exists that the Constitution will change text, presto!

    Or not. Round 3:

It should be obvious to anyone but Biz that Palin's wild desire is dangerous as hell, respecting the Constitution, and the heart of the Separation of Powers doctrine.

A VP who "exerts authority to make sure the Senate is supportive of the President's policies." Yep, brilliant. Revolutionary. Never heard of such an unconstitutional attempt to aggregate undue power to the Executive, generally, and/or the Vice-Presidency, before.

I started this thread before the other answer. Nice try at being a smart_ _ _. You are wrong on which came first the chicken or the egg.

Your law instructor got it wrong regardless of how you miss quote and tip toe.

Article II Section 1. The executive power Period You are wrong.

LOL - well, Biz, I realize you said you're heading back to college. But in all seriousness, I can't literally read this for you. Feel free to cut and paste this literal text from the United States Constitution, Article 1, Section 3, and take it with you, if this is literally too difficult to untangle, but here it is, for the 4th time, the text from the Old Document:

Now, please feel free to also bring along this cut and paste, and ask if this would pose a problem for that same, relevant, literal text from the Old Document:

It can't be made into something else, no matter how much you would like Palin's whacked ignorance to make sense, Biz. There's a reason it was set up like this, no matter how much Cheney would like it otherwise, or his would-be doppleganger from Alaska. It's called the Separation of Powers. I'm sorry, Biz, because you truly can't seem to understand this, but I believe you're very, very wrong.

Biz, if you believe that jumping back and forth between this duplicate thread and your posts in the other thread will help you, they won't. As I said there, I simply feel sorry for you. For a final time, Palin was describing her view, which turns out to be an extra-constitutional view, of her role of President of the Senate; a role covered in Section 1, Article 3, of the Constitution, dealing with the Legislature.

    Her view:

    and the Constitution:

It cannot be any plainer, and for your own sake, Biz, you really do need to stop - please.

Mr. Biden, stated that the executive branch is defined in Article I of the Constitution.

And you are agreeing with Biden even though he's wrong?

Article I describes the The Legislative Branch not the executive.

Article II lays out the executive.

    From Cornell Article II

    Here is the index

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/02/debate.transcript/

    For the entire transcript.

While technically I believe both are incorrect, Biden appears to be more of a case of mispoken/misunderstanding than anything.

To me it appears he meant Article 1 and it's reference to the executive branch 'the vice presidency' and that roll in the Senate.

The vice president has no true power to vote in the senate unless there is a tie vote, in that respect I don't believe Biden was 100% correct either. Much of what he said could easily come down to how you interpret what he is saying.

Palin however, I don't see how you could interpret it much differently than what she stated.

I can see that since you pointed it out.

But for everyone saying that Article I of the Constitution was dealing with the executive branch and not the legislative branch was just wrong.

And as far as Palin goes, She will not have to worry what the VP roles are.

You can read this over and over again...she didn't say a goddamn thing. Nothing !
I heard it live. Can anyone tell me what the hell she said? There is not one coherent sentence in there that has anything to do with the question.

    The founding fathers were smart.

She will kiss babies like Al Gore

She will do her job.....(kiss babies)

She owned a business and was a mayor and a governor.

She was a mayor and Governor.

I think that was a close translation.

Logic, it may be boring to you, but frankly, after the last 8 years of a Cheney vice presidency, to see a moron like Palin blithely pronounce a gross misstatement of her would-be constitutional role in the Senate - to her belief that she has every constitutional right to "make sure the Senate is supportive of the President's policies" - I find that extremely alarming, and telling - both of her ignorance, and her overreaching hubris. It's not a trivial point, at all, at least not in my book.

@Biz, I can't help you. It is apparent to me, anyway, that Biden was referring to Section 3 of Article 1, which very definitely defines the role of the VP in the Senate; in taking issue with Palin's gross misstatement, he was right. You spent pages apparently unable to grasp the following sentence:

An extremely lucid, fundamental concept. To pretend to any subtleties beyond is ridiculous.

Because she is dumb as a stump and Americans are not going to put her anywhere near the Presidency - this year or any other.
