the 3 most search for key words.

say for instance the niche is web hosting.

the 3 most popular keywords will be

    web host
    web hosting
    hosting

compared to a whole lot of different keywords using in this industry.

Please note i just use the 3 above from the top of my head, i didn't research them.

What i'm asking is whether you have more conversions with more keywords rather than the top 3 of them alone.

keywords cost money and some people use a limited amount, some people use a limited amount of keywords for a much more targeted niche also but does this actually work for some of you?

I'll be honnest, i've been using the top 3 and i wasn't successful at all.

Not saying i was working with web hosting lol.

Are you asking whether you feel it's better to use your daily budget on just 3 keywords as opposed to spreading the budget out using lots of keywords?

If that's what you mean, then I'd do keyword research and find 100s of keywords - not just stick at the 3 most searched.

I have tons of keywords. I came up with my own list and then added the google recommended ones. I have/had all of them listed as options. Then, every 5 days or so I'll go through and look at the ones that aren't being searched/aren't converting and I'll remove them. I'm down to about 35 now. Once I get down to my top 25 or so I'll probably just leave it.

Also, I think being more specific is better so rather than just web hosting use low cost web hosting, no contract web hosting, multi site web hosting, etc.

    Good luck!

Your main goal in researching keywords is to get your ad in front of as many people who would be looking for your product as possible. So you could have hundreds or thousands of keywords that people could potentially enter if they want web hosting.

The long tail search terms usually convert better because most users entering specific search terms are at the buying stage. These are the ones you want.

Eg. web hosting vs reliable web hosting

They're often cheaper than the broad search terms as there's less competition for those keywords as well.

So it's definitely worthwhile researching a comprehensive list of keywords.
