@vicdigi i've just converted it from standard to bidding, plus it was fairly empty anyway, I intend that it will have regular listings, paid and recip permanent listings, non bidding format. featured listings, in bidding formatm plus showing on frontpage if top bidder Thing is , i can make featured bid permanent or 1 year I am thinking about this, 1 year featureds simply revert to permanent regular status this would mean lower bids
You raised some good points in your earlier post regarding bidding directories and I quote "I just worry that a bid directory would become essentially "full" with webmasters taking their promotion dollars elsewhere once they can't justify paying $100 to be listed on page 4 of a category." I look forward to when your directory does combine a bidding feature. However and my apologies because above you have strayed a little from the questions listed below that still remain to be answered about bidding directories and I would hope for more interaction from bidding directory owners themselves as I believe they need to let many know if they are injecting their money in the right place. ------------------------------------------------ What is the longterm future of bidding directories? What happens when a bidding directory has really high bids already set? Has anybody yet considered bidding directories as a form of advertising? And if so…. Would this not be appropriate to be entered into the niche market, say like travel which in turn is one of the biggest online industries the UK? And finally, are bidding directories about to overtake the everyday general directory? . . .
1 year from when? From an initial bid in April, or the follow up bids, say in May, August or November?
Going back to Obelia now. Excellent points raised again especially what happens a few years down the line. Come on folks, yes there are negatives just like there are nagatives for the everyday general directory. However, there are very strong positives too. Can somebody bring more of these out.......
