Bid price vs Max bid price

    Anyone here can tell me what is the different between Ebay bid price as well as max bid price? I was confused with this 2 prices. Thanks

    Bid price - The current amount that shows on the sale page
    Max Bid - The amount you are willing to pay

    Ex, my current bid is $10 and i am willing to pay a maximum of $20 for that item
    so $10 is my bid and $20 is my max bid :)
