Bid directories...

    Well again I've a question that What is the BID Directories and how these directories help in SERP. Is these directories paid? it not then why its bid directory.
    Please explain as much as possible.

    They somehow lost the charm long back - when google decided to penalize them.
    I still have those - but not much interest from public.

    What does i means that google penalize them? so there directories are not helpful for SERP or traffic generation?

    Google is not pleased with buying and selling links for PR purposes. And that is pretty much what bid directories are doing.
