Can bid directories add a site in their directory? Errr, I mean not put bids into it, but to add a website they think is ok? I mean free/paid directory owners usually add websites they think are ok, so can bid directories do that?

They can do sites but they aren't listed or even listings aren't created unless bids are made which is seen as stupid because people pay good money and you just add sites for free and I would avoid this if you want to make a good bidding directory.

well if you have a paid directory, there are times you add a website. so why not on a bid directory? That just means that bid directories are just plainly paid links...

    Because people "bid for position"
Its not the same in a regular directory... some are sorted by PR, or alphabetically, etc...

Yes they can, providing its at the minimum bid.

Many established bid directories add their own sites or useful sites into the directory, but at the min. bid, so they do not outrank those who paid to be there.

Agree with Mikey, adding sites at the minimum amount is a good thing.

A good thing by making it "look like" people are submitting?
Sorry, but if you add sites to your own bidding directory it is nothing but self serving.

    In my humble opinion...

well, then so is adding to paid directories then. But directories "serve" a purpose. That is, they not only cater to the submitters but also give good sites to visitors.
