Founds some verses of bible about murdering people. Read them before pointing fingures at Islam or Quran or teaching of Mohammad. All of these verses are taken from very popular online Bible websites.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leviticus 24:16 the Bible demands: “Anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD must be put to death

"And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. And the LORD said unto Moses, 'Take all the heads of the people and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.'" (Numbers 25:3-4)

"And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter." (I Samuel 6:19)

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." (I Samuel 15:2-3)

"And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God..." (Deuteronomy 13: 5)

"If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;" (Deuteronomy 13: 6)

"Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people." (Deuteronomy 13:8-9)

"Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword." (Deuteronomy 13:15)

"Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." (Numbers 31:16-18)

I posted this with great regret (and I’m sure I’ll be burned in Hell for this) because as a Muslim I respect and believe Moses (P.B.U.H) and Jesus (P.B.U.H) and their teaching as much as I respect Muhammad’s (P.B.U.H). But I saw too many threads in this forum about degrading Islam and comparing it teachings to terrorist activities.

I will not post any comments in this thread as its too hard for me to keep up with threads, If you have questions or comments please send a PM.

    Best Regards,

Isn't it good now we don't live by the Mosaic Law even though some of that law we still respect?

Next thing you know they'll be telling us that the mordern law of the land in various US states says we can put murderers to death.

Oh it does. But why is it that I can't go out and put a murderer to death? Why can't I ticket red light runners? It's right there in the law books!

What is interesting is that we don't use these verses to promote modern day killing, like muslims do with the koran.

We don't because we understand that the law was written down so we know what punishments WE are to expect if WE break the law.

Not what punishments we are to inflict on others when THEY break the law.

The law was given to the rulers. How would you like it if our government did not make the laws and punishments available to the citizens? You'd have no idea if you were breaking the law and what punishment you'd be forced to endure for breaking these unknown laws. I think you'd be pretty pissed.

With the Koran the law was given to all Muslims. It was not given to a central authority to enforce like it was in the Bible.

If the law was given only to the rulers then let them practice chirtianity too. Why you practice it, if its only for the rulers?

The law was given so that there could be sin.If there is no law how could someone say that there is a tort...
This was given until the day Jesus came...that is why we do not see this law in the NT...

So you are saying that Christians are allowed to make changes in Bible? As far as I know there was no NT or OT at the time of Jesus, there was just Bible the word of GOD. You made changes to it as you will?

You are right when you say that there was no NT in the time of Jesus.Because this was written by the apostles after Jesus resurrected.
For your information it is Jesus(your prophet and my Lord) himself who change this law.He told us to forgive and not to commit murder.

you have it backwards...the law was not given so there COULD be sin, sin was already in the world(since the time of Adam and Eve), and the law was given so that we could do a better job of NOT sinning...and Jesus came to fulfill the law, which he did. He also gave us a new commandment, one of Love. look it up.

The OT was around when Jesus was alive...the OT is the same thing as the Jewish Bible, which contains the Torah (the first five books). How do you think Jesus read from the Isaiah scroll if it wasn't around?

The Bible is a combination of the Jewish Bible and the NT. Christians beleive in the Bible as the INSPIRED Word of God, meaning that God inspired humans to write it down in the way that it is written. There hasn't been a major change to the canon (the collection of books that make the Bible) since it was originally put together. This is the reason we have some scrolls (such as the dead sea scrolls) that are not included. Even if an old scroll is found that has a different verse or chapter, all the Bibles are not immediately changed. Scholars and translators will reference these other scrolls, but they are not an official part of the canon of scripture.

Sinning is simply doing what God tells you not to do. There was always the ability to disobey God. But that does not cause sin or allow it. It simply makes it possible.

The only way it would be possible that there was no way to sin would be if God did not care about anything you did.

I'm guessing Tikoutikou is LDS. That's once place where the idea that sin was necessary comes from. It wasn't necessary. It just happened and God had a plan to deal with it.

Its not technically someone, its a translation of the hebrew name for the book...not all books are named after people.

This is what I was trying to say.The law was here to show that there was sin.If there is no law no one could say that they have breached it.

Actually in Aramaic the word sin really traslates into wrong.
as in getting something wrong, missing the mark, etc
it was only in later generations that christianity introduced the concept of sin as something that you had to be punished for, before that it was regarded as more of an error than an offense.

Those are from the Old testament. The Old Testament has strict Laws and command punishable by death. The New Testament is more on Forgiveness. This is just my Opinion.
