    Hey fellow DP members,

Taking a quick break from the usual SEO/dev/marketing grind and curious about something a bit more casual... What streaming services are you guys finding genuinely impressive when it comes to original series or movies these days?

I feel like I've exhausted the big catalogues of Netflix and Amazon Prime, and I'm on the hunt for platforms that are consistently putting out high-quality, well-produced original content that's actually worth the subscription. I'm less about quantity and more about quality productions that really stand out.

Could be anything from gripping dramas that make you think, clever comedies, to stunning documentaries or even well-made sci-fi. Basically, looking for those "must-watch" exclusive shows or films that you'd genuinely recommend to another busy professional looking to unwind with something worthwhile.

Any hidden gems or standout platforms you'd recommend checking out in 2025 specifically for their original programming? Always appreciate tips from this community.

    Cheers!

If your budget is flexible and your main priority is sound quality, I'd strongly suggest you check out the Apple HomePod (the larger, current-generation one). I was a bit skeptical at first, not being a massive Apple-only person, but a friend demoed his, and the sound really impressed me. It has a genuinely rich, room-filling sound with surprisingly deep bass for its size, and the clarity in the mids and highs is excellent. It doesn't sound muddy or tinny like some others. It does have Siri for smarts, which handles the basics like timers and music control just fine, but the audio is where it truly shines. You can find the specs and more info on it here: https://www.apple.com/homepod/. It’s a bit pricier, but if "sounds for music" is your main criteria, it's definitely a strong contender and a big step up from the standard Echo/Nest offerings.
