A couple of days ago we received an e mail from Paypal, confirming a payment of $29.99 had been sent from our account to a lady in Texas. As we were not aware of the lady or having sent her any payment we were a bit concerned. The e mail contained a prominent 'button' stating " Dispute Payment". Obviously there was a huge temptation to click this button, but fortunately commonsense prevailed, and we checked our Paypal account (not through the e mail) only to find no such transaction had taken place. This is obviously some kind of scam to obtain your Paypal details. The e mail looked genuine, and was very convincing. Beware.
This is just an ordinary scam e-mail. Nowadays these spammers use newer and newer e-mail messeges, which are getting more stupid each time i receive them. Actually, i have received around 50 of them per3 years! Be aware, delete all emails you receive or forward them to paypal company so the could close that website down. If youre using Windows Vista or new IE, you should find a FRAUD button and report it in seconds. Watc yourself out, nobody will do it for you.
Yes a scam to make you panic and enter your account password without thinking about it. I got an email like that stating I bought a computer from Dell. Looked convincing expect that "dispute" button. I clicked just to enter some funny data for username and password. Have imagined them trying over and over again to login with a funny password
This suspicious email should be reported to paypal right away as they will investigate that matter ASAP. Simply forward the email to spoof@paypal.com Hope this helps! T Cayetano
