Beware: WidgetBucks IS a Scam!

After my experiences with WidgetBucks and the experiences of others, I have written two articles so far for my readers and I thought I would share them with you.

    Here is the first one:
    WidgetBucks Is A Worthless SCAM!
I wrote that one after I found out my earnings vanished.

    Here is the second one:
WidgetBucks Pays... But They're Still A Scam!
I wrote that one after WB paid, explaining how that doesn't mean they aren't a scam.

I hope you find these helpful and learn one valuable lesson: Don't trust WidgetBucks!

You know what? I used to earn a lot from them with my product blogs. But recently I am experiencing plunging sales from them. I'm thinking of removing them from my sites altogether...

I think it's pretty interesting that you're willing to go all out and call them a scam even though it's made pretty clear that the next day figures you're seeing are the correct audited ones.

I don't want to insult your intelligence or knowledge, but this argument is nothing short of silly. Say if this were the case, how would WidgetBucks know who to pay? How would they know that if they paid Publisher A, they would go on a forum and tell Publishers B, C, D etc. that they've been paid and are therefore legit and trustworthy? It just doesn't make any sense.

FYI, WidgetBucks aren't the only ones that offer the $25 bonus. Just because they offer a signup incentive doesn't mean that their a scam -- it's smart business practice. The incentive would've played a huge role in their massive growth resulting in more revenue for them.

I have no doubt in my mind that WidgetBucks is a totally legit programme. Sure, there have been a few mishaps with their ToS changes and whatnot but you've got to expect problems from a programme in it's infancy.

Thanks for your articles this will obviously help me and other webmasters who are using this ad network. I will wait for some more days. If everything goes fine I will keep them or will change to CPX

It has been said more than enough times...Let's see if they pay their advertisers as promised this month (unless they clear out EVERYONE's account...)

Interesting articles, but that makes alot of places a scam using that criteria. Any place that makes a mistake or changes terms and enforces the new rules could be a scam. I do agree with the question of how they would know who to pay. Randomly picking people can't guarantee that they will give you good press.

I think that WidgetBucks has made some unfair claims and some unorthodox business practices, but I wouldn't wholeheartedly agree with some of your arguments.

To say that a company is not professional because they blog on BlogSpot is a bit of a stretch. Google blogs on BlogSpot, despite the fact that they own it :) A few other companies do too.

As far as the tagline, it's more of a marketing ploy. MPire is playing on AdSense hatred in their ads and their slogan as well. It's justified, since WidgetBucks is a sub-brand of MPire.

I have seen quite a number of threads of users being paid, maybe there are issues that need to be ironed out, but to call it a scam seemed to be a bit too harsh. IMHO. When a company first started definitely there are things that need to be modified along the way, especially complicated issues like ads serving and international sites. Give them time to straighten out the issues, given that they are not long in the business.

Also I do hope that Widgetbucks take appeals seriously into considerations and improve on their feedback mechanism. I wise them the best and hope for a strong competitor to Adsense so that we will have more choices.
