I just tried this service called Smorty the other day and needless to say this service was less then satisfactory. It was flat out rediculous. First I loaded $24 on my account for only 2 blog posts! What a joke, I could get 10 posts for that from DP members. They bait you in by claiming your paying for a high Pagranking blog review, but thats completly unture. The only requirment they hold there posters to is that one page on there blog has that pagrank. Any page their bloggers will review your site on will be pr1 or less. The two blogs they did for me were in broken foreign english and one of them had half of the post cut off so it made absolutly NO sense. After that I complained and they would NOT refund my money. Then they deleted my account! hahaha how rediculously unprofessional. Well see how their poor excuse for a company does in the long run when they cant get anyone that can even speak english posting for them!!! BEWARE DO NOT USE SMORTY FOR ADVERTISING YOUR SITE THEY ARE A SCAM! THEY WILL DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT IF YOU QUESTION THEM!
brother...smorty is not scam..this is normal when you can't select your advertiser. they are just a middleman..so why are you trying to get sponsored post from them? they can't control anything rite?
Um have you ever used there advertising side? Im guessing no. I am yet to find one person happy with their service. Middlemen are responsible for employing respectable people, in this case bloggers. At least people who speak English. There is no excuse for Smortys behavior and I for certian will NEVER use their jank service again. Im just trying to beware other DP members before they get donked into using them. They are not what they say they are. They advertise your page will be on a PR1.2.3.4..... and base the prices you pay for the post off of that PR this is completly false advertising.
From the advertiser point of view, I think one should go for PayPerPost as their system offers geo-targeting and filter system based on a blog's stats. I don't know why did you go for Smorty at the first place but if you are not giving up on marketing via paid posts, give PPP a try.
...or you could knock out the middleman and start a thread on DP calling for reviews. This way, the blogger gets the total amount you are paying, you set your own requirements with PR, iTrader, rep or other things, and you'll get a lot of business. There are a lot of bloggers looking for work. I haven't had much luck with the Pay per post sites as a whole. I got paid ONCE...and I am a member of probably 5 or 6 of them.
I used Smorty from the blogger side of it and I always received my payment when it was due. I guess the advertiser side isn't as fun.
It was good when you could use the tricks to horde the posts (as a publisher), but now they don't allow it DoH !
Is there much action at smorty ? it went quiet there for a while after Xmas, so I lost interest, has it picked up yet ? Like how many offers per day are you guys getting ?
I guess there's always going to be some people unhappy with any service if enough people use it. Most of the time it's due to not fully understanding the processes of that company by not reading the website, or receiving a poor result. Firstly, Smorty have never deleted an account and never will, although some accounts have been denied access due to fraud. Being a middleman, Smorty is naturally responsible for reviewing and filtering out the poor bloggers, however due to taking in over 100 new bloggers every day, there will naturally be some teething problems with some blogs. We often ban blogs for poor quality English or other misconduct against our rules. If ever an advertiser is unhappy, we always aim to resolve the issue by providing new posts, fixing the old, or in some circumstances, refunding. Naturally sometimes you just can't make some people happy unfortunately and that has always come down to them not reading the rules page which clearly outlines the service. As always, this is the most important step when dealing with any company from buying a train set to buying a house. Most advertisers have used Smorty every second day for over 5 years, this doesn't happen if advertisers are treated in the way the abover thread explained
