    Hi,

I wanted to let you guys know about my experience with a SEO company which was previously known by the name and website

    Here's how it all started:

One day I got a message on DP from a guy that calls himself Sunny (don't remember the username).

He offered SEO services and I had a site that I wasn't really doing anything with so I decided - why not?

The price was cheap and I had the money so I went forward.

We agreed on a upfront payment of $750 and upon completion another $750.

What is completion you asked? It's hitting top 10 on Google.com for specific keywords. The estimated time-frame was 3 months (I was a bit skeptical but I didn't have too much to loose...).

Work was done and reports were sent on a weekly basis. Some improvements were made with the site's rankings but it always fell back to the starting point - ranking nowhere.

About a week ago (4 months into the project and 1 month after the estimated time-frame) I suddenly got an email saying that I have to start paying this so called SEO company a monthly fee of $600 for their services. I had absolutely no idea what was going on!

I contacted Sunny and he told me that this is how things are from now on because they have a new president and project manager and these are their orders. I told him that he's breaking his side of the deal but he didn't have much to say. All he said was that they were loosing money on my project so my options are either to pay the $600 monthly fee or to stop the project entirely.

    The project was terminated.

To make a long story short - this make-believe SEO firm lied to me, took my money, got 0 results and broke the terms of the project.

What am I going to do about it?

I'm obviously not going to take any legal actions against them as it's not worth the time, money or stress.

The only thing I'm doing is starting this thread to warn all of the users at DP about these scammers. NEVER use them.

I might consider recommending them to my worst enemy, but only after careful consideration.

Please keep this thread alive until it gets to every last user here at DP.

You can obviously ask any questions ... I will be happy to answer.

    I just highlighted the problem.

Sorry to say but you get what you pay for.

I feel sorry for people who pay pittence for SEO services because to me it shows they don't truely value there online business.

If someone offered you a Dodge Viper for $1, you would question it. Same applies for SEO/SEM.

    Hey KP...

This was just a side project, I have other projects running for higher sums..
I'm not mad about the lack of seo knowhow or results, but about the crooked business practice.

Anyway - thanks for your opinion. In general - I totally agree.

At the end - I'm not here to complain, but to warn others.

You should always ask to see previous results before hiring anybody to do SEO.

I have a list of all my SEO projects updated daily Here

Any reputable SEO person or company should have a list of previous projects and accomplishments so you can be faithful that you will get what you paid for. Hope this helps. ;)

Again - I wasn't angry about the SEO skills or lack of them but I was angry about the sneaky business approach.

Anyway - what you said is definitely correct...

Thats gr8 that you have alerted us but why don't you take any action against him . I think you are rich and $750 doesn't matter to you . But in india $750 is equal to rs 30k . I can buy a good condition second hand bike also in this amount dude .

The difference between our and your currency amount makes other do such things you don't care about $750 and we cream about it LOL .:D

It's not that I enjoy throwing away $750 but I can live with losing it...

The action I'm taking against them is this thread..

I want to warn others - that's my only intention.

Ohh thats ok but buddy i was just telling you the difference between your currency and mine . That why some stupids from India do such things because they think they can enjoy few weeks with such a nice amount .But they create problems for people like us . Few months back i was doing good dealings with other dp users and most of them paid us advance too . But now they says first work than get paid .:(

There are so many SEO scams out there. Ensure you try a reputable company and get a contract if you can.
