Hmmm... I just buy my domains from GoDaddy, extremely reliable + probably the cheapest option out there with all the coupons available.
Yes they seem to have a problem, if you try to register a new .cm domain through namecheap it seems they are all taken
I have been using namecheap from past 4 years i never faced any problem with them. But there hosting really sucks.
Namecheap so far has been an ok domain registrar for me, used them for years, no problem. But not sure about their hosting; it's really cheap and probably sucks.
Namecheap is a good registrar. It is not their problem that a 3rd world controlled registry is having internet issues and cannot communicate with registrars to update them on zone files and dns issues. That's why when trying to see if a .cm domain is available, it will tell you it's taken to avoid you paying for something that might indeed be taken just because the registry cannot get their act together. Someone probably stole the copper wires in Cameroon! lol.
Well i had my 3 sites with them all .com . their service was nice only . i didn't face any problem and their was always live chat for help . So i think its problem .cm not the namecheap .
plain and simple, I bought from namecheap. this is their problem to solve. They are ignoring my support emails, removing my forum posts, removing my facebook posts. All I want is the domain fixed.
That's unfortunate. Just like many people above me I used them for years now, along with GoDaddy. I haven't experienced any issues with any of my domains. Hosting on the other hand is less reliable
i already seen your issue in wht this issue not releated with namecheap this issue has been with .cm registry
We do not encounter any problems with the .CM registry. Our customers can update their domains whois data or nameservers without any issues.
It is not a registry problem. We are accredited with .CM and it works without problems. Also I know domainers which have their .CM domains with Moniker and also don't have a problem, thus it is rather a registrar issue.
Everyone have its share of problems, but this is not quiet their faulth -its out of their control. I have been using namecheap.com for a year or so and so far so good -very cheap and competent stuff. I was a godaddy.com customer before for over 6 years, but they are the worst registrant ever. the worst possible service and even when you register a domain name, all they do is try to sell you more usless stuff. Even if you want more than 1 extra email address per domain name you have to pay extra! Also their, "private registration" is a laught in the face, they charge you some $10/year to keep your domain details private. However, if someone send them an email and say something like "I want to know the person details because of a copyright violation" - They will give out your details, all it takes is an email, nothing formal is required. Apart from that, they will charge you an extra $30 processing fee for giving away the details that you are paying them to keep private! Also if ever someone send a spam complain against your domain name, they will take all your websites down and give you 2 options. To pay a few hundreds dollars per domain name so that they can forget about it. Or else, pay some 80$ processing fee so that they can let you transfer your domain name to another registrant. Good deal ehh? and this is for a complain only, let alone if you send the spam email or not (They wownt bother investigating who send them email, they just take the opportunity to charge you) So, for those godaddy fans, think twice before saying that godaddy is good, it is a laught in the face, and unfortunately I learned it the hard way. BTW, im not the only one with such complains, all the web is with stories similar to mine... beware of them..
