    Hi Folks,

    Another Scammer... "Bernice susana"

Gets the work done... acknowledges the work. Promises payment as agreed within 12 hours.... Keeps on delaying on grounds of "manager needs more information about you" and "manager not available"... after 48 hours replies with "I forgot" .. then after another 12 hours still there is no payment!!!

Now, she is caught with her real Id and denies identity.. claims to be her friend!!!

Unfortunately both have same email id!! (claims to be mod too!!)

Please DO NOT buy from her or sell your work to her as she is a Scammer!!

    Thanks,
    QCW.

True for writers but not true for buyers.

Unforunately, these types of scammers leave everyone vulnerable so that writers have to protect themselves with upfront payments while buyers don't want to do upfront payments and risk someone running off with their money.

    This stinks for all.

I think it would be good advice for all those writers who got scammed to locate their work online, contact the people there and advise them to raise the issue as a dispute with paypal to get a full refund. The original writers can then obtain their articles back for resale. I assume the people who purchased the stolen articles will be more than happy to help out and may in fect repurchase the articles form you once they have the refund.

Paypal takes its time for these things but I'm sure it will get processed. Especially if more than one buyer is contacted for different writers who were scammed paypal will know the guy is dodgy.

I really feel for you writers who have been scammed. I hope you have better experiences in the future.

For now I think a Name and Shame wall would be interesting. Surely though DP Mods can ban this guy on the basis that he is using multiple accounts and bumping his own threads therefore as well as the whole idea of him falsely advertising his services through multiple accounts and selling stolen goods. If that isn't a good reason for banning I don't know what is.

This incident gave us a reason to rethink the way we conduct our business as writers. Should we accept payment upfront? Should we issue an Agreement (with damages clauses) that both parties should sign (using real names)? Yeah, these things seem like hassles; but taking these precautionary measures before we actually enter into a business transaction here at DP will save us all a lot of trouble in the long run.

And to inform you all, I've got infractions for creating this thread, for "accusing" someone of ripping off another.

I think the infraction is all worth it. We have unveiled an illegal activity backed by evidences and testimonies from actual victims. Everyone has been forewarned and saved from getting scammed. And the scam artist? He took down his sites and has been "quiet" and inactive since this thread. With Eric Shan's inactivity here, victims felt that justice has been served. Well, that's for most victims; but to some, they want revenge. They even asked me to help them "scam" Eric Shan in return. I didn't respond to these PM's. I think a public information such as this is quite enough.

Eric Shan/Bruce Jacobs are obviously the same person and 99.9% probably not even either of his real names.

That sucks for you guys.. sorry to hear!
