an ethical host may suspend your account until payment is made. a scumbag host just goes and deletes everything. i have had 2 hosts like that in the past. my current host ain't the greatest, i mean what host is. but at least they are ethical.
so you expect a host to hold your files for 6 months for you at their own expense for free...in the hopes that you'll be willing to [by that time] pay the 6 months of hosting fees you owe them? Ethics works two ways...if you are willing to not pay your bill (which you rightfully owe) there is some error in ethics there as well ...
no, thats ridiculous, about as ridiculous as you suggesting it. i think a 30 day period is sufficient.
I have to jump in here and say this: For that really low cost of $2 per month ($20 per year, was it?) you could have saved yourself a lot of grief by simply paying the full amount for the year. why didn't you? Win-win... Second point: NEVER RELY ON YOUR HOST TO KEEP YOUR FILES ! always, always, backup your files regardless of whether you have a dial-up connection or not. for the record, I think the host handled this wrong...but the OP needs to organize and keep on top of his own website expenses, that includes hosting fees and domain registrations.
Hi Guyz, Thanks for contributing on this thread, forum admins should really keep on check on these things. Looks like this guy is not good is his dealings with others as well . He is very rude, atleast he was with me.
I'm not defending this guy (as while I do think it was a bit unethical...he's not in the wrong because I suppose it was in his TOS)...but you guys need to provide PROOF if you are going to make accusations ...

there could be 100 people complaining...and if there is no proof...then it doesn't do much good... if you want to say someone is a scammer you need to back it up...or else anyone could just walk in and ruin anyone's reputation if they felt like it...

I give plenty of thought to my posts I don't recall saying I wouldn't believe them...I said they couldn't prove it... Would I use someone if 100 people said they were a scammer? No I wouldn't...but I also won't say they are a scammer if there is not proof...as I don't believe someone should be 'punished' for something that isn't proven... if someone wants to label a real scammer a scammer...it shouldn't be hard to provide the proof
we can go back and forth all night, we could but its a waste of time. i cannot imagine that many people in that thread, from all over the world, getting together to try and ruin that black hand persons rep for no reason, it doesn't make sense. its almost midnight here so off to bed i go, we can pick this up in the morning.
Yes why would so many people get together to ruin one person's reputation without any reason..there must be something .. i had a bad experience with this guy... Cheap host, deleting files, increaring prices without notification...even if we forget about all that...still the way this guy treats his customers is totally unacceptable.
Come on - He shouldn't have to hunt you down to get a payment. It is your responsibility to make sure you pay your hosting fees everymonth. If you run a business you should be able to increase your price anytime you want. You dropped the ball, if you paid him once then you had his paypal info why didn't you just send the payment? Maybe you could set up some kind of reminder in your calendar so you can pay your bills on time.
that many people?...i've only seen 4-5 people complain about him though i'm not saying he's perfect...i'm just saying it's not right to call someone a scammer without proof...proof is the way of the world...
lol..I'm him because i don't think it's right to label someone as something without proof? funny...i usually just attribute that to the fact that I live in America and believe in 'Innocent until Proven Guilty'
