Well as i mentioned...I am not here for charity.... If you don't pay after repeated reminders...You are bound to get 'terminated'. Your site ran for many days...and then it went on suspension... and after 10 days of suspension it was terminated. And in the chat you said you did not receive my PM, but I just checked and I can confirm that you did....And you even replied saying you will pay, but you didn't. So it really doesn't matter...If you don't pay, you don't get my service. Its as simple as that. If you are looking for a reliable host...who will keep your files for 2 months (after termination) -- Which is very unlikely.... that was last month, i asked you to send me the payment details which you didnt, i forgot about it later and never received any kind of communication from this guy again. After one month my account was terminated without any notification. If you did send me any mesgs, prove it. You are highly unreliable, rude and careless guy. The site that was hosted on your site didnt have any important data, so i am safe, but this thread should WARN EVERYONE seeking to buy hosting from this guy. Administrators should monitor this kind of NON-PROFESSIONAL companies.
yes it was $2...now he is asking for $3 without notifying the customers... and he says i am not his customer...what is this? have you seen any hosting company doing that to their customers? have you ever seen accounts being terminated that quickly without keeping the backups?
icewolf, Do you pay manually from paypal or through a billing system ? You are responsible for making your email on file updated and reachable and should mark the hosting company email address as safe to make sure you get all the notifications into your inbox. Also I do believe it's not hard to remember your due date. I manage several servers and I remember the due date of each of them. you can use any calendar service which comes with Gmail for better scheduling. About your data. don't expect your host to keep your data forever. he has the right to terminate your account for non payment as you don't pay him for the space your data is taking. About raising the price. I think you always keep your pricing as long as you keep paying and have your account in good standing. if you get terminated and want to rejoin, then you have to abide to the new prices announced on the company's website. Maybe you didn't care enough because your site wasn't that important to you as you say ?
I'm gonna have to side with Black_Hand on this one. (anyway...what's his TOS say?) I run a host as well, i terminate accounts (delete files and all) if they are 45 days past due, and if this happens they are no longer a customer...and would have to pay the current rates if they decide to sign back up. (as well as paying what they still owe for the 45 days i held their files without payment )... And even then, a host make their own rules, and you agree to them when you sign up. Most hosts offer to keep pricing the same for current clients...but are IN NO WAY obligated to do so
Black hand not only deleted the files but lied about pricing... looks like bad service all around the board... We never delete files if a client doesn't pay, we may terminate/suspend account but they can reopen at anytime(within a certain time, obviously not years later) and they will still have their files and everything... As far as deleting the files if that is in his TOS than that is part of the agreement the OP signed and that is tough for you... as far as the pricing, it looks shady to me. When I say $ and later down the road I stand by what I said whether it is profitable for me or not. "Honesty is the best policy"
It hasnt been months, just 1 month i or so. He could have simply suspended the account and i would have known the site is down and would certainly contacted him and paid any outstanding balance. This is what every hosting company does. Deleting the files in this short time is obviously unacceptable. On top of that increasing the fee at will is not a good business practice.
Cmon dude, the increase was only $1. And the fact that you dont have a backup is absolutely silly, especially when you're paying $2 per month for hosting.
It don't matter if it was 10 cents... dishonesty is dishonesty no matter if it is a little lie or a big lie... its the principle not the amount. I have a feeling many of you deal in such practices... maybe that is why I have always had alot of viral marketing cause I am honest, if I say something is a certain way it will be that way no matter what. This world doesn't seem to find that necessary anymore.... if it is just a little amount it is okay

Although I am on the hosts side in this one, I do think that you dont need to take the 3$ if the customer is so angry about it. Why not go for the 2$ and avoid these threads. As a business man, you should know that good contacts with customers or even partners are far more important than money. Apart from 3 angry clients in our past, we do maintain a personal contact with all of our clients and partners. We find this to be alot more profitable than on-website payments and 2$ or 3$ deals. You must realize, people in the business, know other people in the business. As a weaving spider you must enlargen your web.

If I was you, and he deleted my site without any notice, and treated me like that I would have give him an itrader headline of "SCAMMER, TAKES SITE CONTENT AND NEVER GIVES BACK" @ICEWOLF Honestly speaking, hosts like these should be banned! Its really about ethics here.... Someone here said that how come Icewolf didnt keep a backup of the site when you are getting such cheap hosting of $2. Truth is there are people like me who are on dial up and I myself dont have a backup of my site cause I wont be able to download everything with speed of 7KBPS. So, I expect my host to at least keep my data in their server and my host does. If I dont pay for hosting, Ofcourse I am guilty, and so is ICEWOLF here, but He is not as guilty as you are for ruining his hard work with your UNETHICAL business practice that you implemented towards him. You are plain RUDE to customers and you just dont care and it shows when you said in reply to his post that it is not charity. Someone following their TOS, and choosing to maintain a profit is not scamming. While it may not be the most moral thing in the world...I don't see any scamming involved in this thread... (though it is 6 MONTHS OLD...so I may have to re-read it now just to make sure i didn't forget those details)
