Beware listingcorp.com mail scam

    I just received a letter from listingcorp.com web listing services. It references a domain name, reference number, notice due

    The scam is I never ordered this service.

    If it is like the notices I frequently get from them, it does say that it is a solicitation and not a bill, but they really don't make it very obvious. An awful lot of people must fall for the letter though if they can afford to send those letters out at 39 cents each.

    Besides all the press, this is a true indicator that sem has hit the masses and scammers. I couldn't believe it when I opened it.

    Yea I have seen these also. I just do what I do with all the others. Delete them. Gets tiring actually to keep getting them. My delete button is worn out.

    I had a client victimized by a similar Domains Registry of America ploy. He received what he thought to be a bill for his domain names and unfortunately paid it. Their charge was almost tripple what his legitimate registrar charged. It took us three phone calls, multiple e-mails, contacting the FCC, and a period of about three months to get his money back.

    And these guys are still doing it and getting away with it in probably 95% of the cases out there as many people will not go to the lengths that you did to fix this. These type of people need put out of business for good, but they just keep popping up everyday.
