    Listen to this..

Today I got an email supposedly from PayPal saying that someone has been trying to hack into my PayPal account and that I am asked to log in and verify my details, transfers etc.

The link in the email said PayPal.com but it was in fact some bogus ip link - something like http://43432769:84/

I entered the link and the page looked exactly like the PayPal login page, but when I looked in the address bar I saw the bogus ip address..

I then logged into my real account through PayPal.com and everything seemed to be fine.

Looks like someone is trying to get PayPal passwords so he can easily tranfer money from multiple accounts.

    BEWARE!

For some odd reason I deleted the email instead of trying to report the ip address..

Did anyone else get this email?

EDIT : I recovered the ip address - 1374747950:84.. Does anyone know how I can report this?

    yes send it to paypal.
make sure you include the header output of the email as well
that way PP can track the sender or the host

just make sure you dont login clicking links in emails to any sites.
    type in seperately.

    I sent it to PayPal..

They confirmed that this email was a "phishing" email..

Anyway, if you ever get a link to follow in your email for a service that you are signed up to - don't click on it, just log in the way you usually would by typing the address on your own in the address bar..

Watch out for these idiots trying to wrongfully make money on your expense!

A good phisher would never leave a trace. So, if he knew what he was doing, that ip address would never lead to him.
