BEWARE, buying MYSPACE resource turnkey site

    I found an adsense egg on the popular MYSPACE RESOURCES SITE, based on the free turnkey site like this on http://www.myfreelayouts.info/ listed in the post
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=121098

    There is a directory /ads with 4 files, there were planted some adsense code. Probably somebody tracks the site and will click on the ads. Install.txt did not mention changing the adsense pub-XXXXXXXXX in such files, even files are standalone and not linked anyway to main index page.

    The site above has them (maybe the owner will remove them later on)

    live sample dubious links:
    http://www.myfreelayouts.info/ads/conference.php
    http://www.myfreelayouts.info/ads/leaderboard.php

    The code planted looks like this

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
    <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>conference calling, conference calls, conference, conference bills, mesothelioma, domains yahoo</TITLE>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" charset="windows-1252">
    <meta name="keywords" content="conference calling, conference calls, conference, conference bills, mesothelioma, domains yahoo, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip">
    <meta name="description" content="conference calling, conference calls, conference, conference bills, mesothelioma, domains yahoo, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip, voip">
    </HEAD>
    <body bgcolor="FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">
    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    google_ad_client = "pub-8583081026626408";

    Code (markup):
    Remove all files in the directory \ads

    conference.php
    conference-calls.php
    leaderboard.php
    leaderboard-calls.php

    I think what that code does:

    You simply put your adsense ID there and it will change all the related ads on the pages.

    I think that violates TOS (editing adsense scripts), but harmless.

    Sorry I don't get what you guy mean, can someone explain how the egg works? Will it steal your adsense credit?

    No,
    When you buy the site you need to modify these files and insert just your adsense ID, instead of having to manually insert new adds in all the pages.

    For christ's sake guys. Google put adsense egg to do some 'image next to ads' research. They want to confirm that putting images next to ads will gain CTR.

    Check these explanations about the eggs:

    You haven't got the foggiest clue on what we're talking.

    Google put the egg to experiment. Google owns Adsense, so they can put any image next to ads. They don't have to direct access to those..... try to understand

    You're kidding right :D

    And BTW why the hell are you talking about images next to ads?
    The code posted by sv800 is showing a unique adsense publisher number, nothing about images there!! It's just in your mind :)

    I agree with doozyj, it's a standard piece of adsense code that needs to be changed to your own publisher #.

    Also, when you send us to explanations, try to point us directly to a Google.com info page, not a public forum ;) -->
