Hey all, I looking into person to person betting on virtual events and i am wondering what license (if any) i need. I have had a look on www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk and find the different licenses very confusing. Does anyone have any knowledge in this field?? The company will be website only no premisis where betting will take place and the will be a maximum of 2 members of management if this helps. Also could you get around not having to get a license if the users were betting tokens that were brought for money? Hope someone can help Kieran
Seems like quite an in-depth and farely serious bit of information you are after. If I were you I would mess around with type of thing, rather than depend on advice from some strange person on a forum, you should consider calling the authorities, and explaining what it is you want to do. That way you will get the proper advice you need and you can then make sure you stay out of jail!
To be honest, with the fines involved for getting it wrong, you need to speak to a solicitor that has experience in gambling laws. The link http://www.gamblingcommission.gov.u...ing_licences_do_i_n.aspx#Remotegenbetstandard seems to answer some of your questions
