better to have a long domain name or short domain name?

I am setting up a stock website teaching about how to buy and sell stocks and options.

    I have two choices.

Should I go with a longer domain like

    tradingstocksoptions.com

or a shorter domain name like

    hitice.com

the shorter the better. But the most short versions of the keywords you want to use for SEO are probably used by many others.

Rather than the long or short of it, you should select the one that most aptly describes what you intend to give out and which is easy to remember! :)
I say that... simply because some names, even though long are sometimes easy to recollect! :)

It sells a DVD teaching how to trade stocks and options.
    Which one should I buy
    tradingstocksoptions.com
    or
    hitice.com

Should I go with the longer domain to fit the content better or shorter for easier to remember?

Register them both before someone else does. :(

When looking at a domain name, one must consider its branding potential and SEO benefits. Assuming you are into selling a DVD, chances are the SEO benefits are more important then the brand.

If you can get a relatively short domain that has your keywords in it, and it appears you do if it is not registered already, then go with it.

    Good luck

C every1 is not typing the domain names into the browser bar, so It does not matter much if your domain name is long, If its having certain keywords related to your niche, then consider opting for long domain name. See your options and Its pro and cons. Best of LuCk!!

I agree, try to choose a SEO and cosumer-friendly domain instead of thinking about short and long, don't make it very long though
