Better to have a dashed .COM domain name, or an undashed secondary TLD

I'm looking into buying a keyword domain name, and have hit the same question I come up with often:

Is it better to have a dashed .COM domain name, or an undashed secondary TLD?

In my case, both mykeyword.com and mykeyword.org are taken, but mykeyword.net is free.

my-keyword.com is available as a .COM.

In my experience, Google tends to prefer .COM and .ORG over the lesser-used TLDs (especially .INFO, etc).

Would it be better for long-term SEO to snag the dashed version of the .COM or .ORG, or stick with the undashed .NET?

I suggest that you can take the dash version as .com domain. I also have experience with .net domains they are also doing very well but can take longer to achieve good positions in search engines.

Forget about the .org or .info domain they are really not easy to rank and requires a bigger budget for link building to see results, but this also depends which keywords you target and how competitive they are.

I hope my post has helped you further with your project!
