I'm looking to start a new social network around a niche I'm interested in (finally). My question is after 2 hours of cursory research into social networking scripts I have found boonex dolphin (demo) to be the best most advanced script out there so far. The ONLY drawback that I'm afraid of is that it doesn't allow you to customize your profile CSS like myspace. Now this social network will be for the older crowd so maybe that's not necessarily a "necessary" feature but then maybe it is Anyone know a script out there that looks great and is as powerful as boonex (or at least looks as good) and allows profile customization?
You can ask for a mod to do that in their forum. Though personally I beleive its a useless feature unless being used by very kiddy kiddy population. You can see elgg.org - pretty good . I thing you will find that it does have that feature. Look in the ADMIN under advanced settings and there is a tick box for allow user to customise profile, or something like that.
have you tried socialengine? or phpfox, dzoic, kootali, etc....Dzoic is currently enjoying the highest rating on below user review site.
