I'm using Mambo CMS for my website so the site title shows on every page of my site. Right now, i use our phrase- comprehensive guide to everything bluetooth related. Do you think - Comprehensive Guide to Bluetooth technology is better? or should i keep it short and say Bluetooth Technology at BlueTomorrow.com. Isn't it better for the keyword to be first? for the keyword Bluetooth technology i'm ranked #63 in yahoo so im trying to get up higher in yahoo. Should i change my site title? I'm having hard times getting decent traffic but i do get PageRank
I'd keep your site name out of the title, and use a title similar to what people's search terms would be. Also, it's good practice to use different titles for each page, so that the title is descriptive of the page.
i wish i could change the title for each page but that is the thing i hate about Mambo. The site title will be on every page, and the name of the page goes after it.
ah, well thats not as bad. I'd have to vote for using "Bluetooth Technology" or "Bluetooth Technology Guide" then.
Well, nobody can answer that for sure, however a short title does normally help in ranking for the keywords in it as each of them is given more weight. I would however try to find a plugin or something for Mambo that lets you change your title for every page, as the title tag is a crucial seo element. (I never used Mambo, but such things exist for nearly everything )
What version of Mambo are you using? In the global config you should be able to set it to use page titles as the site title so it would be in the following format: Site Title - Page Title With a little hacking of the core you can remove Site Title all together or make it Page Title - Site Title.
yeah, i do not have a technical background, so hacking is out of the question. I think i'm using mambo 4.5.2.
but short keyword has to compete with many sites as compared to some what big keyword eg weight loss or weight loss list
