Better Ranks, But no traffic!!

Well, I have better rankings but the traffic is very low. I don't get more than 1500 visitors per month. but i do have good ranking for the important keywords.

what should I do to get more traffic

 

You can try out to get traffic through social media sites.

 

Submit your site to popular directories.

 

Notice you said the important keywords. I think that is a smart/great approach to focus on your core keywords but since you are now ranking for them I suggest branching off into longtail keywords. So if you were winning the keyword red cars, you can now focus on cheap red cars, fast red cars, etc. If the main keywords are hard enough to maintain for the page you can expand laterally which means optimizing your inner pages for new keywords (same as your homepage) to drive in more traffic.

 

Quality is great, but I agree with gamefriends, you need to rank for a lot of keywords and keyword phrases.

Well, you're not getting traffic because you're ranking high for uncompetitive keywords which are pretty much useless :/

I suggest that you focus on some medium competitive keywords and get more backlinks!

 

You can create mini sites and apply organic SEO with different keywords. What it means?

Every mini site will be optimized for a brand new keyword. In this way you can catch more positions and grow your traffic in the same niche.

Yeah, sounds like you are ranking high for uncompetitive keywords, which means your keywords are incorrect. The only other possibility if you still did proper keyword research is that your description is so spammy and unappealing that you aren't getting click-throughs. Adjust the title tag (but not enough to effect rankings), and attach an appealing meta-tag that will pull in visitors. Good luck.

Build more links in Social Bookmarking site and Yahoo Answers. Also, do some article submissions and the traffic will come.

 

just keep pluggin away at more keywords. Yahoo answers gets me lots of traffic, but make sure you have more than one account ready just in case you get booted.

I was giving valuable answers with only 1 link in the source and they didn't tell me why I was booted.

Now what I do is have several good sources with only 1 link pointing to my site.

For me this is the process I use. I start out with submitting my articles to some directories, then to my blog .... I promote my affiliate stuff with safelist to earn some fast cash and to keep me motivated... finally commenting on forums. Everything else I outsource .... just don't have the time right now to do what I would like.
