If you have a strong site with a page rank of 6 is it a good idea to have a links page? I could use it for trading links but I also have a pretty big budget for buying links.

I think you should have a separate page like partners.html for trading links and you can earn a lot when your site reaches PR6

if I had been there in your position I would sell links on all those pages and earn a good amount

not really looking to sell links. Was thinking more like a link directory. But I am concerned about my link juice being drained.

I don't think your "link juice" will be drained if you exchange links with strictly related sites...

They key is only linking to relevant quality sites. If you include anyone your site will be deemed a link farm.

If your links page is there to help your visitors find other useful information, then yea make one. Don't make a links page to reciprocate links with unrelated sites or directories though.

Rember that Google doesn't like anchor text "Links" in your website links.

    You should try with "Resources"

    Cheers ;)

if possible, don't have a link page at all, if you want to have one, have it on your second site

If you really like to have links page in your site then I would love to see that listed with relevant and similar topics' websites. It will help your visitors to go through more resources right at your site. And I guess, SEs would not have any problems with that. But you have to maintain the descriptions of the listed sites. Those should not look keyword stuffing. I dislike people using the link page for only link exchange purpose with any kind of sites.

Nope... IMO links pages are terrible, if you are going to use them for link exchange and will bring you no benifit.

The only use I see for them is if you really have business partners and you wanna link to them.

I cast my vote for no links page. Link out to relevant, helpful resources from within your content. If it makes sense, create a list or directory of links that will be useful to visitors.

haveing a link page is no problem coz it is on a differnt page then your PR6 page. Simply try not to have that link page LINKED from that PR6 page.
