i wouldn't because let's say your site gets popular, than people already are committed to that domain name because it's branded. If Best Buy comes and shuts you down, you now have to reestablish your website with your users.

unless you were competing against them I wouldnt worry about it, if they wanted that domain they would have chased after it

That's a tough one. 'best buy' is a common set of words, unlike, kleenex, google or yahoo. I would say you could argue that it is unrelated, as long as you don't reference the actual store (if you are making money on the site).

If you are NOT making money, then you should be fine. Look at bestbuysucks.com, where former employees complain about working there.

If you are unwilling or unable to have to potentially fight it out in court with Best Buy, then don't even bother with the domain.

if your unrelated its ok, but do you really want to risk having to fight out a prolonged costly legal battle with best buy?

I live in Michigan, just down the street is a brick and mortar place named, 'Best Buy Used Cars' http://bestbuyusedcars.com/ they have been in business for years.
I dont want problems, so ill scrap the issue. :(
    Thanks for feedback.

Best Buy is not going to fight with him about it at all. Best Buy will just have it seized.

He will wake up one morning and his site will be taken down and he will not longer have control of it.
