here a couple of my favorites Im new to this site so im not sure if i can put these links in yet www.funneldesigngroup.com/ and www.gobuildgo.com Conz
Whoa! I'm guessing you got the links mixed up. The donbarnett site is an egregious example of print designers or maybe just artsy-fartsy types thinking they can do web design. The text is unreadable. Gray text on a black background may be way cool on a poster, but on a monitor, especially at a 9px font-size is simply stupid. The smallest size that any font can be and still render the full glyph set is 9px. Any smaller, and there just aren't enough pixels. There is no indication the author of the page has any understanding of design for the web. The landing page is a total failure, except as an ego/look-at-me page. Even at that, there is no good reason to look further unless you're his close buddy, or you are easily amused. The stuff4beauty site does not have a color scheme I would choose, but then I'm not the market segment (lower middle class, middle-aged women?) they're after. Pink and beauty parlors (and their products) are traditionally related. The page is easy to read, and navigation is clear and obvious. The site is well organized and everything is easy to find. The content could stand to be better structured, and the copy needs tightening. I would like the markup (structure) to be improved and made well-formed. These are minor issues compared to the readability and usability of the site. Assuming good promotion in the stores and advertising media, this is a good, and probably successful design for a commercial site. cheers, gary
