I searched through this subforum looking for a similar thread but it appears there's none.
The question is simple, which wordpress themes (free or premium) are best for SEO.

Thesis theme is all about absolute heavy marketing based product.
On the other side any wordpress theme can be a best SEO'ed theme with proper use of H1, H2, H3 Tags, less usage of sliced images, Minimal design elements coded with CSS, W3C Standard Validated Markup and All in one seo plugin. That's all you actually need, rest all those so called Super SEO wordpress themes are the result of extreme marketing.

Its Thesis, but you don't need only the theme for website traffic, the theme is not so important. The most important is the daily updated content

Really? There are tons of threads that ask that exact same question at least once a week.
The answer.. there are no "SEO" themes. Some make certain functions and options easier simply by having them in the admin panel for the theme, but there are no SEO themes.

Yes, I know may designers market their themes like this, and they are all full of shit. They are smart enough to know that webmasters are desperate to find any trick or shortcut that they can and marketing their theme as an"SEO Theme" is just the right buzz word to spark some interest.

Sure, maybe some themes are lighter, load a split second faster because they don't use any images. or have post meta information coded into them but saying that a theme is better than another for SEO is as dumb as saying one theme is better for adsense than another.

Yes, there are some themes that are horribly coded and you should stay away from them but for the most part it's not the train, its the conductor.
If you know at least the basics of SEO, which theme you use is not much of an issue.

    SEO theme is:

    - clean coded
    - fast loading
    - does not use js
    - uses h1, h2 in right places
    - using a title instead of a logo
    - has good navigation
    - has meta tags

but content and backlinks are the most important.

I guess it's related to each other, i mean how you work on your blog. I have a proof on this lol. I have an optimized SEO theme (it's a free one) but my site is not having any visitors from google yet :( but the other blog which i created the theme myself, 56% my visitors are from Search Engines.

However if you need free SEO optmized themes, you might check this free theme lists i would love to have, i collect them from web.

Thesis is awesome. You can also try themes of brian gardner { lifestyle/rev } . However choosing a right theme depends on your target audience and your niche.

I would choose my theme according to my presentation needs to create a good blog. You can SEO just about anything. Just make sure the coding is clean.
Add a couple of plug ins, perform some link building, and create good content.
    Don't over think it.

I would never choose a theme for one of my blogs just because it was said to be a "Good SEO" theme. I'm going to choose a theme because it's bad assed.
