I just tried activating WPStats plugin but it will not let me use my same API key? My same one used for Askimet. Weird! And there are lots of people ask same question and go for a loop at wordpress support. Any one got past this issue, or wonder if have to make a second account just for a different API? Boulder
Yes MeetHere, has been my blog and my blog only from the very domain conception. And the only API key I have used too. I would rather not mess up my good working spam killer API either.. So I am not sure how to go about making the API stats work.. I would rather have my spam killer than the new WP stats.. So I may have to forget those until a for sure solution arises. I see lots of other folks have same issue on support page for plugin. Boulder
I had the same issue for the blog I bought from someone.. I contacted wordpress and I solved the problem by following this http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/06/18/how-do-i-change-the-api-key-used-for-wordpresscom-stats/
Yea, I saw those same instructions a few hours ago too.. And those look like something that I do not need to do.. Because do not need to transfer my API from user1 to user2... My API is already assigned to my one name and account and works just dandy now for my spam killer. My blog being external (self hosted) though so maybe WP API stats just work on wordpress.com blogs only? Is the blog (site) you have them working on is self hosted? Boulder
Thanks MeetHere, That wassup does look pretty cool.. like the features a lot. I wonder if will slow blog down any at all.. I may have to try that out and see how it works.. LOL Thanks for showing, don't think I have have seen that plug before. Boulder
stats plugins will tell you referrer, search engine keywords, google/msn/yahoo, which outgoing link they clicked, etc..
awstats also tells us search engine keywords incoming traffic (search engines and other soruces). am not sure about "outgoing link they clicked"
stats press is the best which show keywords .Which is live traffic analytic . _________________________________________________ Weborbus
Yes, Awstats is a great program.. IMO It is mostly what I use everyday to check on my sites traffic, inbounds and keyword density. The most thing I liked about the sounds of WP stats is that it would show me these things from right inside wp-admin and would not have to login a second place. I am however very glad to have and use Awstats, as could not get WP Stats to work on my set up anyway. Boulder
does it tell which keywords are bringing traffic from google, which from yahoo, which from MSN Does it tell the activity of the visitor ?
trust me I used wordpress and i had real troubles with stats its better to use joomla it shows current visitors without much effort, along with page numbers and all other things without much editing in the template i would usually trust on cpanel stats for that matter
just hand it to Google Analytics I have experience when set stats script to my server and it writes gigantic queries when your blog start to have min 10K UV/day. won't do it again
