What is the best plugin to use to restrict certain content to paid 'membership' through Wordpress? Thanks!
Just ran into this post. I've tried several of them. I'll tell you the worst one first: one by Gootix (aka WP-Board) I tried the old version and the latest Paybox version. While I know people that have used it successfully, it's confusing and there's barely any support (and I program for a living...so not a non-techie for sure). On the flip side, there's one called Fastmember at http://www.fastmembershipsites.com I've built several sites with it and I'm pretty satisfied. The make just released a new version that has multiple levels - I still gotta try it out. -digital
Here's a list of sites that I've just been looking at: http://wp-member.com/what-it-does/ http://www.voiceoftech.com/swhitley/?page_id=129 http://www.memberwing.com/ http://www.easymemberspro.com/ (not a WP plugin, but still a good system)
Micro membership plugin integrates PayPal or ClickBank payment processing into your blog allowing you to charge for contact and automatically collect payments from your users. See http://membershipsitemaker.com/micro-membership-wordpress-wpplugin/
Just found this thread. I realize this thread is old, but the information is rather outdated with plugins that are not really relevant today, and it's not really helping those arriving at this page via search engines (that's how I found this page, by the way). So thought I would add my 2 cents to it. Hope I'm not breaking any major rules around here, as I'm rather new to DP. It would be a shame if anyone researching membership plugins doesn't consider DigitalAccessPass.com (DAP) as part of their research. There are a lot of things DAP offers. And by including it in your research, you'll probably learn a bit about what to expect from membership software these days. (Disclosure: I'm the founder and co-developer of DAP) Cheers! - Ravi Jayagopal
