What are the best hosting companies providing 1 click install and 1 click update for Wordpress?

With "1 click" I mean automatic or easy to do... It can be a 3 clicks process indeed ;)

The purpose of this thread is to provide a comprehensive list for newbies (no affiliate link or BS please) :)

    Hostgator
    http://www.hostgator.com
    Install : 1 click
    Update : ???

    Dreamhost
    http://www.dreamhost.com
    Install : 1 click
    Update : 1 click

this is true...just as long as it's actually a reputable hosting company.

    1 click update? Really?

It's very easy with Dreamhost because they do provide their own panel and system

But what sucks with Dreamhost is some downtimes and the fact that sites with Wordpress do not load quickly

I take it godaddy is not on the 1-click list then...I had about 17 clicks :p and the kicker was the sql host name...the wordpress install instructions for the config file said "99.9% of the time this value will not need to be changed" well....with GD it sure needed to be changed!!

sorry if I got the lingo/terms mixed up but hopefully you got the idea...it took more than 1 click!

    b/c I'm a new bee :p
what can I say, it was cheap! I'm cheap....it was a good fit :D

They can be a chore to navigate at times and that's from someone who kinda sorta knows what he's doing. I can only imagine how intimidating it could be for a 1st timer!

Yeah i miss things like cPanel not being available at godaddy and a few other things being slightly different, but as you say its cheap, i like that too :) my site hosted there is not too heavy so it seems fine there, the site has been hosted for over a year there now.

right. to me it's one of those, you've got to start somewhere instances. I used to have a slick cpanel based account with Gate.com (formerly hostsave)...which was great but it was overkill for what I needed.

BUT I mean I will def consider the sites mentioned here for the future...so keep them coming!

The guys over at Lacehost installed WP for me so it doesn't come easier than that. :) They are also cheap as chips and have excellent customer service so ideal for newbie bloggers like me.

And by chips I take it you mean the real meaning of chips, as in a crispy, fried, round potato slice. ie American chips. :)

Very bad experience with Lunarpages (downtimes + slow loading)

    I would not recommend Lunarpages.
