Best WordPress Forum Plugin?

    Does anyone have an opinion on the best WordPress forum plugin? These are the ones I've found so far that seem actively maintained:

    • SimplePress (http://simple-press.com/)
    • bbPress (http://bbpress.org/)
    • Tal.ki (http://tal.ki)
    • Mingle Forum (http://cartpauj.icomnow.com/projects/mingle-forum-plugin/)
    • WordPress Forum Plugin (http://wordpressforumplugin.com)
    I've tried SimplePress but really did not like it - the whole forum felt clunky unintuitive in places. Has anyone used the new bbPress yet? I'm thinking about installing that to see how it works. When searching for Mingle I've seen a lot of posts and articles about security vulnerabilities which makes me nervous. The Tal.ki forums are hosted/embedded which I don't really like. Lastly, WordPress Forum Plugin looks interesting but it appears to be in closed beta. Anyone here happen to be in the beta yet?

    Any other good forum plugins that I'm missing? I may just install phpBB and try to integrate it myself :(

    there is dedicated forum software which is designed with all the featured you will need. strapping a plugin is not the solution
    go for dedicated forum software and it will be alot easier further down the track

    my prefernce is for vbulletin

    Consider using SMF. I am using it and I like it. You can also try it out on some free SMF sites which offer free pre-installed SFM forums.

    bbPress is new and advance.... but i am really not sure how this work if you have dedicated server. most hacker looking for WordPress code in dedicated server for phishing

    I had same problems with simple:press but deactivate all the plugins expect and use it ,it works grate .
