What the best Windows Desktop?
Why is the Desktop you picked the best your why you like it?

I have to say that Windows XP Home is the best.
Why becuase its what i am use to realy , i like to look and feel of it.

 

So you are saying Home is better than Pro?

 

No im saying in my mind Home is better because i have not used Pro only Desktop i have only used is Windows 98 that was rubbish compered to Windows Xp Home i have now , Dont get me wrong if i used Xp pro then i would say xp pro.

 

XP pro is the best as far as user interaction is concerned. I feel the most stable platform for a lan situation is likely XP/2000 tossup, 2000 is a good OS in my opinion.

 

Then again, with the release of Windows Vista rapidly approaching these opinions are all likely to change.

 

I have never tried WIndows XP Home, always used the pro version and am pretty much happy with it.

 

Windows 98 ALL THE WAY!!! they gave you that screen saver that your trying to catch a mouse with, it's gold...also they gave you that game i forget what its called but its terrible graphics but EXTREMELY fun

 

I hope to use an alternative of Windows in the future.

 

Win2K Pro beats XP for the simple fact that 2K doesn't have product activation. XP Home edition is essentially a stripped down version of 2K. You can tell when you try to install IIS. XP Pro has IIS 6. XP Home can only handle IIS 5. And yes, I have personally installed and made use of IIS 5 on XP Home. It requires having a copy of 2K.

I've used XP Pro but havn't yet found anything it has that 2K doesn't. 2K has only crashed on me when there was a severe hardware problem.

 

XP Pro is the best, well only after I downloaded different skins etc and made it all pretty

Media center is really nice too

 

Gotta love XP Pro. It's a winner for me.
