go-daddy (go-daddy.com) not only is it affordable, they are reliable with great support. Just a small warning though: it might be confusing to navigate around the site because there are so many links (It look me a while to find the FTP information there when I first used it)

I would suggest maybe ordering a dedicated server, or a VPS (virtual private server) Its best to have more control over your website

deezdrama, I'd definitely recommend the HostGator baby plan to host your site(s). Ample space and bandwidth for you...also they have good reputation and stability.

Maybe you'd be interested in some HostGator Coupons and Reviews

Servage allows you unlimited domains and have great features, even though I should admit mysql performance is not optimal.

Netfirms allows you up to 400 domains and have good reliability, besides in my experience is the only Linux hosting service offering ASP.Net using a dual platform.

This means that you get both a Windows and a Linux server at once for the price of just one.

Thing is, the web hosting market is so saturated and there is no #1 pick.

Hosting review sites are become harder and harder to believe as they are biased and not based on truth, but based on how much a company is willing to pay for the #1 spot.

Your best bet is to ask a friend who also owns a web site, ask them who they use and go with them.

Boy do I agree with you jmweb. All too often you see a link with a referral ID posted in such threads as these.

When choosing a host you need to research your specific needs carefully. Do you need the latest version of php? Do you want a host featuring cpanel, ... In my experience a host that does adequately for one scenario may be the pitts for another.

Great to hear your guys support of what I said. Hopefully the original poster will find a good host without much hassle.

It is normal for people to go through 2-3 hosts before finding a good reliable one, least that is what our customers tell us.

So in the end, don't judge on price and you'll save yourself a lot of headache. Look at the features offered and what you'll use, not what you'll have the "potential" to use. Kinda like a single 18 year old with no family buying a mini-van. Ya got a load of space, but besides helping friends move, you'll never use it.

For instance, if your only using 200 mb space and 20 gb bandwidth, then you sure as heck won't need 110 gb space and 2 tb bandwidth. Sure its nice to have however lets be reasonable, thats a lot of space you'll never use. And the offer doesn't sound right, so trust your senses or else you may find your website homeless down the road.

Now I wanna keep this short and simple but, sure you might get away with months of no problems but really hosts come and go by the dozen. Every night theres new hosts popping up out of their parents basements. And every night theres hosts disappearing and "going out of business" without warning. But lets not kid ourselves. Most hosts are illegally businesses, and in some cases you have people who can't even entering into agreements getting into hosting. So, how do you think you'll be able to protect yourself when you have someone who is 16 hosting you, who claims to be 18?

So be warned, take the safe route and you'll have less to worry about.

uk2.net is a good hosting company and they respond to your questions, unlike some hosts
