    hello ,

i´m searching for a hosting/server solution for a wordpress network. i think 500 blogs is the number i aimed.
    The webhost/server must be upgradable.
A free trial would also be nice, but i´snt recommend.
if you have ideas, offers or other informations for me please tell me.

    best regards tim

    Its depend on the blog.

If its only simple blog then reseller hosting will do.

But if its a autoblog then you need VPS.

You can for dedicated hosting as well. But don't try with all blogs if you are in trials. Just try with one or two, then go for all

Hostgator is a very good hosting for Wordpress, with loads of webspace and bandwidth, besides you are allowed to tweak your PHP.INI settings, required for some WP plugins to work. If you don't know how, tech support is always willing to help you to tweak that file or provide you with any other help to get your site WP running smoothly, so if you want you can try them for 30 days using this ONE CENT trial coupon code: mydigitalpoint

Otherwise go for a VPS, which starts from $5.95 offering this,

    VPS Software: vePortalâ„¢ / OpenVZâ„¢
    CPU: 1000MHZ GUARANTEED
    Memory: 512MB GUARANTEED
Disk Space: 20GB (RAID BASED CONFIG)
    Bandwidth: 1000GB/MONTH
    IP Addresses: 2 (IPv4) + IPv6
    Management: BASIC MANAGED
    DDOS Protection: CISCOâ„¢ GUARD
    FREE SETUP

but you can always select from other more powerful packages, just follow the link on my sig.

For that amount you need a dedicated server.

If you're hosting ~500 blogs, depending how much traffic each of those is getting and the content + plugins, you may want to look into a VPS before you get yourself suspended on a shared/reseller hosting service for CPU/resource usage.

Do you have any pre-existing requirements such as disk space/bandwidth? You're best to go with a host that offers everything from shared to colocation, so that you can easily transition into more dedicated solutions.

500 blogs are way lot for any host to host in reseller plan or regular plan, I suppose better to consider a VPS or a low end dedicated server, will be much better for growth of your site, instead of getting suspend from host and than move to somewhere else, as maintaining 500 blogs itself going to be challenge

So I suggest instead of cheap, find a stable option
