best web hosting company for php website

I posted on here awhile ago about fatcow and the issues I was having with them. After arguing with them I have finally decided to change hosting companies. I am currently running a website with html, php, and mysql. I might also use some java later on, however at the moment that would just be a plus its not really needed. I got a few recommendations in the last post for companies and would like to get a few more to research so please let me know what hosting companies you would recommend.

    Thanks in advance

    Java hosting is kinda expensive.

So what is your budget monthly?

Well I was hoping to not spend too much money, I'm willing to spend what I need to to get a service that works, but of course I want the lowest price. As for a budget, I would like to pay a little less then $10/mo (not sure how realistic that is with java hosting, haven't really looked into pricing for that yet). I don't need the java at this moment, however I am looking into expanding, but it wouldn't be for at least a month or two before I even start learning java and playing around with it, so it would be quite some time before it would go on my website. Thanks for your help. Would you be able to recommend a website or two that have java hosting and one or two that don't?

Just kidding, looked up some java hosting, I'm just going to skip that part for now, can't afford that quite yet.

A cheap VPS for just a php/mysql website? (since he said he's going to skip Java for now)... that's a big overkill...

    Yes, why not...
In any case that would depend on what how much server sources would your web site eat up.

Yes it does depend on how many resources his site consumes, but considering he does not know that yet, he doesn't need a VPS, it goes the other way around, you start your site on shared hosting > if it eats too many resources you get a VPS > if it still eats too many resources you get a server... not the other way around... just my 2 cents.

Well, most web hosting companies will not have problems letting you use html, php, and MySQL as part of your website.

If you could provide us with what your requirements are such as bandwidth or disk space, it would be much easier to find the right solution for you.

I only can suggest dedicated server to you. Because you can not reach to your needs by shared or VPN servers.
for dedicated ones, i suggest you hostgator
