    Best so far for people with a decent amount of knowledge in web programming it is dream weaver. But if you want to design and code at the same time and have limited knowledge, you should go with Xara Web Designer. It is a Magix Product, its really good and reliable, and is great for beginners and veterans as well.

    Dreamweaver is the best software for the beginners as well as experience developers.
    It is very light weight and easy too use.

    I like the dreamweaver tools that it has, but it also has many bugs like any other software and it also costs a lot, I am still debuting on whether or not to buy it. I dont like how on notepad you have to hand code everything where on dreamweaver it writes the code for the short stupid things that get annoying sometimes. I am still confused and budget is not a problem with me. Is the miscrosoft system better or is it a joke? Is there any comercial softwares that are better than dreamweaver?

    Certainly DW is popular but definitely not the best one, i'm using Raptor Web Designer for visual layout, it generates cross-browser compatible html5 and css3 code. I was coding with Notepad before but it's just taking too much time, you know when you drive a car you just have to know where is the steering wheel only, don't bother with what's under the hood.

    I personally use Dreamweaver and Aptana Studio 3. I mainly use Dreamweaver for the actual coding and Aptana for searching code. Aptana is the best solution I found to find the right file if you're looking for HTML code that could be in hundreds of files (e.g. search wordpress installations). In Dreamweaver I think it's sometimes useful that you can have a preview of the site, it also enables you to find the part you want to edit very fast. I would recommend using Dreamweaver so far (but haven't used many other tools), but if you can't afford it I would go for Aptana Studo 3 which is free and open-source.

    Notepad++ is the best IMO.

    Dreamweaver makes terrible code, very unprofessional. The only people is see using Dreamweaver anymore are "do it yourself" people.

    What do you mean by "Dreamweaver makes terrible code"? Dreamweaver makes not any code, I make the code...and the code looks always the same no matter which editor I use...

    I use dreamweaver but i find that the code can be overly complex.

    My advise would be to learn script an type in notepad or maybe emacs.

    Ok I never used them. I agree that it's probably not the best idea to use any wysiwyg tools to build websites...you should always do it yourself and change the actual code. But you can use Dreamweaver just in the same way as Notepad++ (I tried this now) and it does it's job just fine. When I first started with HTML/CSS I found it very helpful to have an idea how the website changes when I change something in the HTML code through the preview. Now I barely look at it. I think once you have seen the code of several websites you will know what's "good" code and what's poor code.

    You should give Notepad++ a try, it is so much faster. DW is so slow it is painful.

    Dreamweaver is good framework as website designing depends on your html knowledge. You can make very amazing web design with only notepad if you are good at html and css, beleive me
