I've been focusing on basic SEO and getting traffic to my blogs and sites. Be careful about "blasting" your affiliate links. If the affiliate site gets a complaint that you're spamming, you could end up losing your account.
If you are new to internet marketing you should look to build a good quality site with good content. I don't know if you have read about google panda a while ago? The reason for google panda was basically to get rid of spam content sites. (websites that provide no value). Concentrate on good quality content for your site if you plan on building one. If you produce good content that means your content will be shared with social media sites ie twitter facebook ect.. plus it will get your visitors comming back to your site..
One way is to submit listings at Affilaite Clout. This will only work if your affiliate links are from websites useful to affiliates.

Hi, I have started building small niche sites around a particular product from amazon etc... I then build web2.0 pages around these products also and also facebook pages for each product, I then start promoting the facebook page with link to my main site as the facebook pages seem to rank well early on, I then focus on filling out the content on the smaller site so It can become a mini authority site for that product, I also don't add affiliate links until the site has been indexed for a few days, hope this helps

I have access to a lot of email addresses that have been collected through the years but most of them do not want to be solicited.
Try picstag.com - upload image, add active hyperlink to it and share the image over the net. (for example - post it on forums). This is the new marketing tool but it really works.
what i do is share a review and optimize it. so far its making sales but not that much yet, but i do understand that i do still have to build my reputation.
