Oh ya? So your making a FULL TIME living off of your SEO organic hits only? I really doubt that bud...
Here are a few methods that I would recommend 1) Niche targeted Forum Marketing with your Signature (DO NOT SPAM) 2) Yahoo Answers (DO NOT SPAM) 3) Ebay - Sell you products on ebay. This will help to build up a nice customer list and you can then keep in contact with them and send them to your ecomm site 4) Amazon - Same as above 5) Advertise your products on youtube - You can make some nice professional videos on animoto.com with a few clicks 6) Online Press Releases
Depend what product and service you are selling . You might use facebook, youtube, pinterest, thirdparty side like ebay & amazon, affiliate, directories, classified, blog , instagram, facebook ads , google cpc , email marketing.
First you need to improve your site, no one can understand that your site is an eCommerce site. You can make it attractive and user friendly then you should define the advertising strategy. If you apply any advertising technique then people will visit your site but you can't get conversation.
Add some listings on fishes crowded place as EBay or Amazon also a good idea. Perhaps cheaper than PPC. At least, they charge a fixed rate for items. There are lots of auction or marketplace offering cheap or free services except ebay.
PPC first - but not to make money. Do it as a test. Use PPC to test a variety of keywords, figure out which words CONVERT, then initiate an SEO campaign on the best-performing words.
One of the companies on the Fortune 1000 list I've had the pleasure of working with does about $130 million a year in gross sales - about a third of their revenue comes from organic search results. You're selling yourself short if you don't think it's possible to build a high-revenue business by having quality optimized content.
social media is the best option to advertise or news , television will get u more visitores also customers...
I will add this though - the cost of staying competitive with SEO can be higher than PPC. A friend of mine is a full time SEO strategist and spent a few months reworking site content and doing a pretty intelligent link building campaign (white hat) getting one of her clients to the top. Things were going good and she was getting some traction, then a Google algo change wiped out a lot of her work. The client ended up canceling - from HIS perspective, he had spent thousands of dollars and, although he was seeing progress and sales were increasing along the way, if Google can "undo" all of the work he had paid for so easily then what was the point of continuing? He could have spent the money he was paying her on a PPC campaign instead and come out ahead.
I used google adwords at first, but it was very expensive with low profit. But after the campaign was over, still had some traffic.
E-Commerce is typically a brand based matter. That is not to suggest its not nice to have great rankings. However, there are inherently better ways to go about things. Watch these videos... https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/top-tip-from-a-marketing-phd-keep-it-authentic.2656244/ The one that got shut down(sigh) is linked a few posts lower. If you are at all into marketing etc. those should be required viewing. Nerdgasm inducing coolness. Nigel
Admittedly no, not full time. However, I can see where my conversions are coming from and it's much higher from the organic hits. Furthermore, based on the size of my niche, I'm pulling in the lions share of traffic. I'm sure that every niche and industry is different, but the easy part is the visitors, the hard part is the conversions. This was my point.
Other than SEM and SMM, you can make a list of your website on the local listing sites. That would be useful for advertising your ecommerce site as people do make a check on the listing sites.
As most of the members said above, PPC is a best method to act upon. But, it requires thorough knowledge and research for better conversion. Otherwise, you may end up your allocated budget without any sales. There's no point in gaining visitors only. Your landing page should be able to convert those visitors into customers. For this target, you need to optimize and create compelling content on where your visitors will land. After this task, you can go either with PPC programs or banner advertising on some of the popular websites like, news portal or entertainment sites that are related to your niche.
