There are many ways in which you can create traffic to your websites are : 1.Create more web pages, with relevant, focused content. 2.Create more links to your web pages. 3.List your website/s under relevant categories in more directories. 4.Set up a directory of relevant sites on your website and accept relevant reciprocal links. 5.Write relevant articles, with your site information in the 'resource box' at the end of each article, and submit them to article directories. These are some of the points in which you can create more traffic to your websites.
Take a good look at your niche and create a list of all the keywords/phrases that are related to your niche. Check the amount of searches and competition for each phrase. Starting with the low hanging fruit write incisive, useful articles based around that phrase. Do this once or twice a week for each site you have. After a while you will naturally start ranking and attracting links to your content. Combine this with the myriad of other non-spammy promotion techniques. If you haven't done so already read Google webmaster guidelines.

Do you want generic traffic with a high bounce rate? Or do you want targeted traffic with a low bounce rate? I am going to guess that you want targeted traffic, but lets touch on generic traffic. Generic traffic comes from ranking well in Google and the other search engines. You do this by posting quality content, building backlinks, optimizing your site for search engines, key word placement,,,,,,,. The problem is, generic traffic from search results will usually have a high bounce rate. On my main forum, traffic from google search results has a bounce rate of 48%. Targeted traffic comes from understanding your audience, what they need, want and where they are at. Is your targeted group looking for links in directories and social bookmarking sites, or are they in facebook, my space, youtube,,,,, Social bookmarking will give you burst of traffic that is not targeted. Expect bounce rates of 75% - 90%. Directory submission - do you really expect to get traffic from a directory? Video blogging on sites like youtube - targeted traffic with a low bounce rate. On my main forum, traffic from my youtube account has an 18% bounce rate - 30% lower then google traffic. Social networking sites - I really can not answer that question. My "my space" account provides my site with a very small, microscopic amount of traffic. The key thing is to understand the group of people you are trying to target. That is where it all starts at.
It depends on what your doing now. For example if you are writing articles, you can start to write more. Or re-write the articles that you already have to other directories. In addition to the answers you've already received you can also try joining more forums than what you've already joined. Just upscale what you are doing now. Do what you are doing x 2. If you don't have the time to write or rewrite your articles you can always hire someone to do it for you. Hope this helps.
