    Hey Guys,

I thought i would get this thread started as i'm curious on the best way to check accounts for click fraud. I've never checked myslef but am thinking of doing so, i was going to do a traffic check and look for reoccuring IP's does anyone have any better techniques?

I think this is an area most small advertisers overlook so it will be great to give out some info.

I ran through this problem myself. I did not use a software but here is what I found when I suspected click fraud.

I used awstats and looked at my stats. I found some ip's had a few hundred mb of bandwidth on my site. There is no reason for an ip to have a few hundred mb of bandwidth on a site unless it's a video site. The number should have been closer to 50mb

The other key to look out for is a change in conversion rate and click through rate. If your ctr goes up and your conversion rate goes down, then that is an obvious sign of fraud. In other words more people are clicking on your ad and a lower percentage of people are buying your product.

My suggestion is to pay close attention to your numbers. When you know your numbers it is harder for people to get away with click fraud.

    Hope this helps

    Greg
