I found this site http://www.majesticseo.com Majestic-SEO is worlds biggest backlinks and anchor text database where you can get detailed reports about your competitors backlinks and anchor text. Found it VERY good to get a free report on backlinks to my domains.
Yahoo is free and pretty good. but if you compare for example alexa vs compete (paid) compete is better. Now how to determine the good source of Majestic?
backlinkwatch is also pretty solid. I wasn't a fan of the majestic chart which seemed to show a bunch of internal links that I could care less about. Was/is there a way to see only the external links? I tried to click on it but there was no tab for it, thx
I'm just amazed that all these tools seem to give different responses, suppose its worth looking at a few and taking an average. Always good to know which links are dofollow and which are not
any other suggestions for backlinks? i tested a newer (2 months) site of mine on both backlinkwatch and majestic and both are lacking....suggestions?
http://www.domain-pop.com/backlink-check.php is pretty good. Remember link:domain.com in google will only show google recognised links not all your links - usually much less unfortunately!
The service of Yahoo site explorer is the best in this regard and being free, I do not find the need to search or try any other tool. Regards, RightMan
Yahoo site explorer is the best free tools to check web pages indexed and view the most popular pages from any site.
I prefer the link checker from Online-utility.org . It is simple and does the job for me. http://www.online-utility.org/webmaster/backlink_domain_analyzer.jsp
because the nerds at the googleplex think it would assist you to figure out how their current algo works. They only tend to show links from the higher PR sites.
