Good points by thsadmin..... buying fans that are targeted to any niche/market other than markets with very large/mass appeal (this might might work with latest electronic gadgets etc but still a risky venture) is mostly waste of time and resources. Of course fans from fake accounts etc is part of this buying fans bargain.

Thanks, sometimes around here I go on a long rant, the rant is ignored and the same questions are asked repeatedly, ewhore accounts may be an option - I am experimenting with one now, makes me feel gay. But at least you know that you are getting real ppl - even if they are trying to get into the ewhores pants.

The initial post is confusing and messy, the prize wont appeal to many, you need something of value that appeals to the masses, maybe a voucher, a electronic gadget, and you need to have a fbml page on facebook... like two landing pages... a forced like and share sequence is apparently effective - but it's all useless if you don't have the traffic. You can buy plugs on Sweepstakes and prize sites - to promote further.

I've been following this thread...i have the same issue. It seems like facebook is just so crowded nowadays with event suggestions and group invites that its hard to be noticed. Even with a monthly prize of an mp3 player i'm hovering around 700 fans....no fun.

I would have someone redo your fanpage to make it more professional and eyecatching. Then I would outsource
the fan invites. Both of these can be outsourced for cheap on Fiverr or Zeerk.

First of all, you're niche as a subject is a bit dry, therefore you need to spice up the contents of your Fan Page. For example, you can add some anecdotes, cartoons or even astrological analysis (there are astrologers who specialize in stock market analysis). Secondly, I suggest you have a special Facebook application, API, designed for your Fan Page.

    Good Luck!

Personally I thinkg stupid and funny joke pages get further on Facebook than actual business based pages. Some of these dumb pages have over 100K fans.

I agree with thsadmin getting lots of friends on FB seems to be getting more difficult. I add up to about 30 a day but there is some rules you have to stick to.
*Try and send a personel note on each request and differ it from time to time.
*dont just add everybody elses friends, only add a few of them,
*I always make a note of everyone I add then if they haven't accepted my request after a week I'll seach for thiere name and it should still say awaiting friend awaiting acceptence. you can then go and click the cross next to it and that will delete that person.
*If you have to many outstanding friend requests you will get banned usually for 2-3 days.
    Happy FB friend hunting.

Still shit, I am only getting 30 per day from the sellers, I have tried another Facebook like site that was free - but sure friends come in fast - but I lost my pages, mine are always edgie though and have their haters... I have about 4 warnings from Facebook now LoL.

Freelancer - only hire if you can really trust them, I have not found a single seller capable of decent results yet, I have tried those "Buy Likes" sites and they were scams also, everyone is jumping on them- but they don't have suppliers and generally you find out that they are selling invites only.

Fiverr... I stay clear from there as I know their dirty little secrets.

Best advice is: cheat a little and slowly to get initial fans, write as you would for a blog and for SEO, target niche keywords that get traffic or a viral topic, all depends on what you're selling for example... My iPhone 4 page converts awesome at 1 in 10 impressions & my USA general page will convert 1 in 50 impressions. You really do need targetted traffic.

Remember just because they like your page, does not mean they visited your page or will even visit it...

To tell you the truth- I have given up on generating leads for the time being & given up on Facebook traffic, I have been putting the effort into my site alone and I am getting direct traffic LoL... over 100 on at a time... so nothing beats working on your own site.

I guess it's the same trap as this forum, scourging through posts and threads, trying to make $5 selling a ebook, and before you know it- you've wasted the day and achieved nothing.

    Thanks for the answer thsadmin.
I've tried twiends recently. I got few hundreds likes quite easy. They are probably worthless but it is nice to start a fresh page with few hundreds fans. :)
