What do you guys think is the best way to use video for SEO purposes? I've heard that putting your videos up on YouTube and your website can actually be bad, but it seems like for general marketing purposes it is best to have a YouTube channel and host the videos on your website. Any thoughts on which option would yield the greatest benefit?

I understand that YouTube is the best way to get your video seen the most times, but for SEO purposes, is it better to host the videos entirely on your side or embed your own channel's YouTube videos? I feel the latter technique is the best way to go because exposure is paramount but if it works better for SEO to host videos only on your site, and not YouTube, then having a mix seems like it would be the best strategy. What do you think?
